Sports Massage
£30 – 30 mins
£45 – 60 mins
£65 – 90 mins

A sports massage is beneficial for everyone, not just athletes; it can prevent injury, help with healing and increase flexibility.
It can also help with work related injuries aches and pains. It works by stretching tight muscles, stimulating inactive muscles and improving the condition of soft tissue.
We will first discuss your health and lifestyle, how best to treat you and conduct an assessment if required. This will be a visual spinal alignment check and palpation of any troublesome areas.
You will then be asked to undress to a comfortable level and lie on the bed (ladies please wear a bra that unfastens at the back if having a back treatment).
You will be covered in a towel to keep your modesty and stay warm.
During the treatment I try to keep you relaxed as possible but if at anytime you have a question or are uncomfortable, please let me know.

Cupping
£30 – 30 mins

Cupping is often referred to as deep tissue massage in reverse; this can be less painful and in some cases more effective than regular sports massage.
A clear plastic cup is placed on the area of the body to be treated and a suction gun creates vacuum in the cup and sucks the skin into the cup.
This then draws blood flow or chi into the area, sometimes instead of having the cups in a fixed position we can slide them.
Cupping can cause bruising, but it is not always painful.

Dry Needling / Acupuncture
£30 – 30 mins

Dry needling is acupuncture for the musculoskeletal system and can be traced back thousands of years in China.
It can help with pain relief, knots in muscles, pain in joints, such as arthritis and improving recovery time, to name but a few.
Very fine needles are used and are used in the area of pain plus distal points around the body to help.

ABOUT

Elmia was born in 2022 in my home town of Lichfield, by myself, Richard.
I offer a personal friendly service to help you feel your best, relive your aches and pains, help recovery and be at the top of your game.
I have a sporting background myself, mainly consisting of running nowadays.
I have completed many different races from 5ks to obstacle course races through to Ultra marathons. You can often find me pounding the pavements and trails around Lichfield.
In the past I have also trained in martial arts and cycled coast to coast.
I was having sports massages as part of my training and have always been an advocate of them, whilst I was training to be a PT I decided I would also like to train as a sports massage therapist.
I fell in love with this and it is now my main focus.
As well as massage therapy I am also a certified PT, so I can offer any training advice if needed.
I’m fully insured, DBS checked and always looking at new treatments to learn and offer to clients.
I hope to welcome you soon into my brand new treatment room, close to Lichfield city centre.
